約了朋友今晚到 a la Umai 吃晚餐,可惜天氣不佳,不能享受埋個極靚的海景位。地方很小,算骨子,服務良好。 我們叫的蠔(Scottish, Irish) 和美國蜆新鮮而比較淡味。 朋友叫燒黑毛豬的面珠肉,燒得過火。我的鴨腿就很好。 甜品選擇少,很一般。 佢地有百幾蚊的 set lunch,可以一試。

入到餐廳內覺得簡單、光猛並有以玻璃隔開半開放式廚房他們的menu菜式選擇比Zanotti、Caldorazzo還要豐富,有兩頁signature dishes。坐底waiter先給drink list,我說要杯水、他沒有迫你揀still or sparkling,便攞壺清水斟給我,這樣已先拿到很好的印象分。幾個waiter, waitress都好有禮貌、女的有笑容,男的一臉認真,又加分。
第一次到一家好餐廳,點菜有點傷腦筋。我又了兩個 starters :mixed cold cuts 和 Green Salad With Tuna, Octopus, lemon sauce。個cold cuts 攞到來便闻到肉香,份量適中。個 salad 就超級正,底層有畧熟墨魚片,加一層菜,面層是Tuna,個汁係純濘濛汁加點油,這個配搭很新奇而好味、好看,我係唔鍾意食酸嘢,但唔個汁令我食得好開胃,我時時要向人解釋果酸唔係醋酸。(一個用山渣汁和一個係咁落醋的生炒排骨真係差天共地!)
主菜:我見 signature dish中有一個spaghetti with Sea Uchin and Dry Dry Fish Caviar (即魚子乾) ,海膽意粉我在 Gough 40食過,好食,但魚子乾我就未食過應該唔啱我口味。卒之叫咗過幾得意的以紙包焗海鮮意粉,意粉份量不多,海鮮就多咯,很多蜆肉,然後Scampi、青口、蟶子、蝦各一隻,幾得意,味道其實同一般煮意粉差不多。
唔記得點知道呢間新派西餐廳 Ember ,book 好今日一到便去食lunch。D價錢都幾貴,3 course set lunch 收 B795 (約=HKD190) ,唔包飲嘢。我對D食物煮功都很滿意,service很一般。
我叫了一個 Tomato Tart 作 Starter,其實好似一層酥皮作底的pizza,好考功夫,熱辣辣幾好味。 Main course 揀咗 pan fried seabrass,嘩攞到上台已經闻到甘香,舊魚煎得好靚,入口也算軟,正合我心水,魚下面是一些foam狀汁加一種小菇和一小片片的煎香的胭肉,好好味呀。
甜品我叫 Apple Tart 加 Vanilla Ice Cream,個 Apple Tart 是把大半個蘋果上層切成幾塊炸咗占糖漿,有D似北方菜的拔絲做法,可惜個糖漿粘而不脆,也甜咗D。
這個厨師是一個懂食材配搭的高手,set lunch 的各菜式都要一擔功夫去做。佢仲有D Tasting Menu ,以後試下。美中不足,跟很多一般餐廳一樣,叫 wine by the glass,佢地也是從瓶開咗好耐嘅酒中倒給客人,我看到在瓶上有小字”6-6” ,可能6月6日開咗到今日繼續賣。
